June 15/09
On the girls' side, USC's U18s maintained an unbeaten record since their 2-0 loss to Bryst in SAAC academy league action, May 18.
The team played most of the games with only 11 players, sometimes 10, due to exams and school activities interfering with practice and game attendance. In CGSL play our ladies earned 3 wins and two ties and it seems their away record is better than their home record. So far their SAAC Academy League situation is also improving. On June 13 they tied Bryst 1-1 at King City to regain much needed respect at the academy level.
USC will take on Simcoe in CGSL action on Wednesday, June 17 and Bryst in Academy action on on Sunday, June 21.

On the boys''s side our U13s experienced early humiliation against Bryst, April 29. A very disorganized team was desperately trying to get something out of the game, but Bryst really was too strong. The upcoming tournament in Erie, USA, would be a good situation to sort out the kinks troubling this newly staffed squad.
After the boys returned from the USA, their confidence was visible against a visiting Buffalo team but unfortunately the boys were not able to 'click on all cylinders'. This would finally happen on May 30 against DPSoccer Academy. The experience gained in the previous games showed and USC earned a much awaited victory. Since then our u13s are on a roll with wins over Power Academy on June 6 and a tie with ANB Academy on June 13.

Our U14 boys showed their will to win already in Erie, and in regular league play they have also done well.
3 consecutive wins against ANB White (April 26), Elite Soccer (May 23) and Power Academy (May 30) lifted their spirit to the point when carelessness became the main cause for narrow losses to Score Academy on June 6 and ANB Academy (June 13). This sems to be a current issue. The players need to work on their team work ethic and attitude, or the rest of the season will be painful. The U14s will face ANB White on June 20.

June 15/09
The USC U10 Academy Team surprized everybody by winning their opening match on April 18 (Power Academy Green) in convincing fashion, then again on April 19 (vs Power Academy Silver) and April 26 (ANB Academy Blue). The 3-game winning streak came to a srceeching halt on May 23 (vs ANB WHITE) after a few weeks of non-competition. It was a somehow humiliating loss because the players found no support in each other. Coach Rabinovitch was concerned of his players afterwards and the players were made aware of their good and bad plays, how to fix trouble situations and what to do better. A 'rejuvenated' squad from then on played spirited games, and managed a well earned tie on June 13 against Power Academy Black. The team practices hard to improve their on field performance and individual skills. "A loss is as good as a win as long as players feel good playing the game, recognizing their good and bad plays".

May 9/09
This was the official date for the spring season to open, but for our U13 and U14 boys the Erie, USA tournament became a small nightmare - because of the weather.
u13_erie09 Both teams performed well against USA competition. This tournament is always meant to get the players into the competitive spirit, though winning never is a predominant issue. Regardless the U13s managed two losses and a tie while the U14s romped through the ice rain and hurricane gusts to record 2 wins and one tie. Meanwhile, our U18 girls remained at home to take on Bryst Academy, only to fall 2-1 in this opening game. Bryst has always been a skilled opponent and showed their mastery against a lacklustre USC team. USC will play Bryst again on June 13 in King City.
